The Palmetto Trail
The Palmetto Trail provides free public access to nearly 400 miles of passages across 14 counties from the Blue Ridge mountains to the Lowcountry coast. The Trail connects public lands including several state parks, two National Forests, two Revolutionary War battlefields, local recreation areas, and the U.S. military post at Fort Jackson. Trail users enjoy the diversity of South Carolina's natural beauty - landscapes and waterways, flora and fauna - as well as rich cultural heritage and rural and urban life.
